What kind of businesses does Pagespot work with?
Pagespot websites are best suited for businesses that are looking to promote themselves and engage with their customers but don't need to sell any products or take any payments online. Examples of businesses our services would be perfect for include contractors, tradespeople, barbershops, salons, massage therapists, landscaping/lawn care companies, personal trainers, cleaning services, house painters, auto repair, detailers, pet groomers, appliance repair, handymen, tattoo shops, private music instructors just to name a few.
How long does it take to build my website?
It will take approximately 1 week from the time we have all the information we need to build your site. Once the site is built you will have the opportunity to review it and request any desired changes.
Do I have to provide my own images for banners and other parts of my website?
While we encourage you to use real photos from your own business, we will provide stock photos wherever it is deemed necessary for the design of your site. We can also design banners for you and will take care of all editing that may need to be done to any images on the site. We do not do logo design, however, so you will be responsible for providing us with your logo if you want it displayed on your site.
I already have a domain name, can I use it for this?
Yes you can. You will need to make some DNS changes with your domain registrar in order to point it to your new website, but we will help you through that process.
Can I change the domain name of my page after it's already set up?
Yes you can. If you want to choose a new custom Pagespot domain, or you want to switch to your own registered domain name, you can do so by clicking the "Request New Domain" button on your profile page in your account. It could take up to 48 hours for domain changes to take effect, so your current domain will remain active until the switch is completed. If you are using your own registered domain, you will be notified of additional steps that will need to be taken to make the switch.
Do you offer services for emailing my customers?
No, we do not currently offer emailing services, or business email addresses. We can however add the capability to build a customer email list through your website, which you can then export as a .csv or .txt file via the "Mailing List" tab of your Pagespot account. Once the list is exported, you can use it with any email software of your choosing. There are various free and paid email campaign services on the market or you can use a regular email program like Outlook or Gmail.
Will I be able to make my own updates after the website is launched?
Absolutely. When your site launches you will have access to a content management system (CMS) inside your Pagespot account, which you can use to make updates. Ongoing support is also included with your account, so if you want us to make updates for you we gladly will.
I am mostly a service business, but can I also sell some products I have through my website?
We do not have ecommerce capabilities for selling products or digital goods, so if you happen to be a service business that also sells products our recommendation would be to set up a product page on an ecommerce platform like Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, etc. We can then add a link to it in the menu of your new website, or we can set up a custom section with some graphics and a button that links to your product page. If you are interested in doing this please let us know when we discuss your business needs or contact support if your website has already been built.
